Karen Fox Veazey was born and raised in Oak Hill, West Virginia but fell in love with Huntington when she came here to attend Marshall University and has been a Cabell County resident ever since. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education from Marshall University. She then went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Specific Learning Disabilities, Educational Leadership and additional certificates in Behavioral Disorders. She taught special education students for 17 years before moving to the Central Office where she was an Educational Supervisor and Director of Special Education. She has also worked at Marshall University as an Adjunct Faculty member and is on the Board of Directors for Marshall University’s Society of Yeager Scholars. She spent her entire career working in the field of Special Education. Karen retired in 2019 and is currently residing in Huntington with her husband John.
