Bail Out Margaret Mary Layne
Margaret Mary Layne is a Huntington native and a graduate of Marshall University. Currently President of Layne Consulting, LLC, Ms. Layne brings over forty years of experience in the legal, economic development, governmental and nonprofit arenas to the clients of Layne Consulting, Inc., which specializes in strategic planning, leadership training, development programs, economic and community revitalization initiatives and community engagement processes. Ms. Layne worked at the law firm of Campbell, Woods, LLC, for twenty years and spent three years as Vice President of Huntington Area Development Council before she began her career at the Huntington Museum of Art, serving as its Development Director for five years and as its Executive Director for twelve years. Ms. Layne also served as City Manager under the administration of Mayor Steve Williams prior to founding Layne Consulting, LLC. She has served as the founding Chair of the Mayor’s Council on the Arts in Huntington, WV, for three years and continues in that position. Ms. Layne has served as an officer for Arts Advocacy of WV since 2000. In 2017, Ms. Layne was appointed by Governor Jim Justice to serve as a member of the West Virginia Commission on the Arts. Ms. Layne has served on boards of several foundations and nonprofit organizations throughout the State of West Virginia and is the recipient of a number of awards including The Herald-Dispatch Citizen of the Year award, the Martin Luther King Living the Legacy Award from Marshall University, the WV Women’s Commission Mountaineer Spirit Award and the WV Governor’s Art Award for her service to the field of the arts.
