Developmental Therapy Center is proud to launch a meaningful initiative as part of our Bikes Without Barriers Program: Anne’s Rides. On this special day of giving, we honor the incredible legacy of Anne Farley, a legendary special education teacher, who dedicated over 30 years to helping children with significant developmental disabilities.
Anne was a shining star in the world of special education, a tireless advocate for her students, and a mentor to countless educators. She never gave up on a child, no matter the challenge, and she inspired everyone around her with her passion, perseverance, and dedication. Anne’s mentoring shaped the careers of many special education teachers, leaving a legacy of love, advocacy, and excellence. Even in retirement, her impact continued to be felt by families and professionals alike.
Anne passed away on June 9, 2024, but her spirit and dedication live on. We are naming every bike used in treatment and evaluations Anne’s Rides to honor her lifelong commitment to helping children overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. This initiative ensures that Anne’s unwavering belief in meeting every child where they are will continue to inspire and empower future generations.
On Giving Tuesday, we are kicking off this initiative with a goal to raise funds for a new, medium-sized bike to complete our collection for treatment and evaluations, ensuring we can accommodate individuals of all sizes. Any additional funds raised will go directly to our Bike Fund, supporting families currently working to secure their own customized bikes.
Join us in honoring Anne Farley’s legacy and helping more children experience the freedom, mobility, and joy of riding a bike. Together, we can break down barriers and pedal toward progress.
